Tell us about yourself:

A clothing brand owner/freelance designer. I am currently involved in designing within the streetwear space, but still working on expanding my design influence in other fields.

What is the inspiration behind your poster design?

I wanted not only to capture a setting related to the Kendrick music video ‘Alright,’ but also the essence of the message “We gonna be alright.” The demeanor of the character leaning out of the car exudes a confident and cool swagger about him, regardless of what hardships may be present in his life. The black power symbol faded in the background is meant to be subtle, but powerful at the same time. All of these elements add to the overall message that I wanted to convey: resilience and faith in the face of adversity.

Why do you love being creative?

I truly enjoy bringing a vision to life. Whether for it’s for my own brand or someone else’s, the creative process in its entirety is what gives me a sense of fulfillment.

How can we create a more inclusive design world and ensure that Black people are represented?

Continue to lift up one another through spreading knowledge based on experience and bring up your peers name when an opportunity presents itself, even if they are not in the room.
