Hi! I am a digital storyteller focusing primarily on character design, illustration, and visual identity design. I am passionate about creating original stories for people to enjoy and to make a lasting and positive impact

What is the inspiration behind your poster design?

As soon as I saw the prompt, “Together for a Better Tomorrow,” I instantly envisioned a smiling little girl, hopeful of her future with the strong bond of support of adults behind her. Growing up in a single-parent household, I quickly learned the importance of unity and support from parents and guardians during a child’s early development.

The glowing yellow ribbon represents the happiness that positive support brings, the bright red background represents the genuine love surrounding the child, and the high afro represents the big dreams she hopes to achieve.

Please tell us why you think inclusivity and solidarity are essential in our society…

Inclusivity and solidarity are essential for a more hopeful and loving world. Without these, we have seen all sorts of negative impacts throughout history, which have created more harm than good – wars, slavery, genocides, various types of abuses and prejudices, etc. Whether man or woman, black or white, religious or non-religious – we all need each other. The earlier we realize this, the better.

How can we create a more inclusive design world and ensure that everyone is represented?

I truly believe that if we focus on supporting our children’s creativity and curiosity from a younger age, we will have a more inclusive design world. Schools need mentorship programmes in art and design, and parents need to accept that art is not ‘just a waste of time’ but a form of human expression. In the great words of Pablo Pablo Picasso, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
