The inspiration behind my poster design originates from the first day of Kwanzaa, Umoja, symbolizing Unity in Swahili. I placed the Adinkra symbol for Umoja in the top border, which represents togetherness. That same theme is also echoed in the unity handshake.
Inclusivity and solidarity are essential in our society, as they are the foundation of unity.
Let’s bring design and design thinking to younger, more diverse generations, showing them that a career in design isn’t just about expressing creativity—it’s also a practical path to earning a living and making change.
