What is the inspiration behind your poster design?
“Lift Every Voice and Sing” is one hymn I grew up listening to and often singing with the Children’s Choir at church. I wasn’t very good at the singing part, but the song will always hold a special place in my memory. For many of us, the Black national anthem provides a glimpse of hope in challenging times. This illustrated poster combines typography and patterns inspired by our history, perseverance, and being rejoiceful.
