Hello! I’m an Illustrator, Designer, and Creator based in the Midwest. I’m passionate about creating fun characters, quirky imagery, and using the visual medium to tell stories. Most days, you can find me sketching in a cafe, watching What We Do in the Shadows, and obsessing over my latest creative project while jamming out to some Chappell Roan.
I believe that standing together, raising our voices, and creating artwork is a beautiful thing. I wanted to show different types of activism blooming around a gorgeous array of flowers. It feels daunting to raise our voices, especially during dark times when it feels like the world around us is trying to shut us down. But I wanted to show that just like a beautiful bouquet of flowers, magic blooms when we stand together.
Inclusivity and solidarity are essential to building an equitable society built on equality and uplifting others. We must listen to other’s narratives and share our own to create empathy and understanding. When fear is used to divide us and halt progress, we must resist through togetherness, kindness, and speaking out.
I believe that uplifting each other and seeing our peers as friends rather than competition is one of the best way to create inclusion. Starting out in any creative industry can be difficult, so lending a hand to those earlier in their journey than us is a great way to provide information and support. Additionally, when we are in positions of power within creative fields (such as creative director, art director, manager, etc), we must be mindful of the stories we tell and if opportunities are being provided to a diverse range of people.
