Tell us about yourself:

I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC in May 2022, where I studied Graphic Design. Creativity has always been in my blood as far back as I can remember. I’m passionate about all forms of visual expression and creating visually inspiring identities. I’m always looking to expand my skill set and learn new creative tools.

What is the inspiration behind your poster design?

Since my word was equality, I wanted to design a simple but compelling poster that effectively communicated this message. Upon researching this project, I stumbled across this phrase by Sadhguru, which inspired the tagline on the poster: “Love and hate are two sides of the same coin.” Despite superficially appearing to be opposites, both emotions are fundamentally similar. When we put aside our differences, we all share similar or overlapping goals, dreams, ambitions, rights, and opportunities. So I hope this poster serves as a reminder that at the end of the day, we, or anyone, shouldn’t allow external characteristics or qualities beyond our control to divide us because, as a nation, we are stronger together than we are apart.

Why do you love being creative?

As a designer, I’m grateful that I have the ability to take my expanding catalog of inspirations and create meaningful work that connects with people. What I enjoy most in those moments of interaction is how the audience offers new perspectives or viewpoints on my work that would have never crossed my mind. In a field like design, there’s always something new that inspires you, even in the least likely of places, and it’s best to keep an open mind because you never know what good might come out of it.
